According to the 5th and 6th articles of the Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Student Senate Regulation stated below, the election of our College Student Senate Representative will be held.
Students who wish to be a Senate Representative can apply to our College Department Secretariat until 02.11.2026 Monday at 11:00. Applications will be evaluated on the same day, and the announcement of the students whose candidacy is confirmed will be made on our College website.
A polling station will be set up in our College Conference Hall for the Senate Representative Election on 03.11.2026 Tuesday between 13:00 – 16:00.
It is announced to our College students who wish to be a Senate Representative and to vote.
ARTICLE 5 – A student registered in the preparatory class of the College must be registered in the at least second year of the Faculty and Colleges (Students registered through exchange programs, equivalency, undergraduate completion, formation programs for graduates, course students, and special students cannot be candidates.).
(3) Students in the following situations cannot serve as members of the Student Senate.
a) Students who are members or officials of political party organizations,
b) Students with a criminal record,
c) Students who have received disciplinary penalties,
ç) Students who have suspended their registration and have not renewed their course registration during the election period.
(4) The membership of Student Senate members ends in the following situations:
a) Not attending meetings consecutively twice without an excuse or a total of three times within a year,
b) Applying to resign from their position in the student senate,
c) Occurrence of one of the situations mentioned in paragraph 3.
(4) If the membership of the Student Senate ends for any reason outside the normal duration, a new member will be determined by the method specified in the first paragraph to complete the remaining term.
Application for Student Senate candidacy, determination of candidates, and election
ARTICLE 6 – (1) Students apply for Student Senate candidacy on the dates announced by the relevant units listed in article 5.
Candidate applications are examined by the relevant unit in terms of the qualifications sought in candidates, and the results of the applications are announced on the web pages of the relevant units.
(2) Student Senate membership elections are held once every two years.
(3) The determination, election, and announcement of Student Senate members are carried out according to the schedule announced by the Student Affairs Department Presidency by the relevant units listed in article 5.
(4) In the event of a tie in the number of votes received by candidates as a result of the member selection voting, priority is given to the candidate with the higher Weighted Grade Point Average (WGPA).
