Department of Accounting and Financial Management

The aim of the Department of Accounting and Financial Management is to train and develop human resources equipped with contemporary knowledge, who can practice their profession successfully in any country in the world, who know a foreign language, and who can contribute to economic and commercial life. This department is not only aimed at training accounting professionals but is also prepared for a wider interest group that needs to read and report financial statements. In this department, in addition to the conceptual information provided on accounting and financial management, auditing, accounting standards, and financial reporting, practical information will also be presented. Additionally, courses that will provide the necessary equipment to work in international organizations are also included.
Fields of Work and Employment Opportunities:
Graduates of the department have the right to participate in all public and private sector exams that students of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences of universities can enter, and they can work in the financial and finance departments of the Ministry of Finance, the Undersecretariat of Treasury, the Court of Accounts, BRSA, CMB, banks, other public institutions, and private sector enterprises; as general coordinator of accounting and finance, department head, manager responsible for cost accounting, accounting specialist, financial reporting specialist, budget and financial planning specialist, internal auditor, independent auditor, tax consultant, financial analyst, portfolio manager, member of the inspection board, account specialist, revenue controller, tax audit staff. They can also have an independent profession as a freelance accountant, financial advisor, and certified public accountant.
